Alex assists the Head of Compliance in making sure policies, procedures and governance meet robust company and regulatory demands. His work has particular focus on anticipating, mitigating and managing risk.
He assists with the oversight of the risk management framework across the Abacus group of companies. His work covers activity at policy level, operationally and in the preparation of relevant risk assessments, ensuring the methodologies applied are fit for purpose and reporting is effective to support existing and new business activity. In addition to supporting the compliance department his work also assists the Risk Committee in evaluating the risks presenting.
Alex has acquired a great deal of experience in quality assurance having worked at Lloyd’s Register and LRQA. He has a BSc (Hons) in Economics from Queen Mary University of London, an MSc in Economics from University College London and is a Chartered Manager of the Chartered Management Institute. Alex joined HM Armed Forces as a reservist in 2012 where he has supported both UK and Overseas exercises. He has operational experience deploying in 2022 as part of NATO’s Kosovo task force.
