Post event commentary for MYS

The curtain has closed on the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS), one of the most valuable opportunities to learn about recent trends and innovation within the superyachts industry as well as a great networking platform for yacht owners, yacht brokers, charter agents, management companies, government officials and shipyards.

Samantha Snow, Client Services Director and Emma Hill, Senior Corporate Administrator represented Abacus at this year’s show at Port Hercule in Monaco from 27-30 September, to promote the advantages of using reputable shipping jurisdictions such as the Isle of Man and Malta and to discuss Abacus’s yacht ownership and leasing services.

Recently returning from a successful and vibrant show, Samantha commented: “The Monaco Yacht Show is one of the most prestigious boat show in the world, and it has been a perfect showcase for launching our new service line for helicopter owners in collaboration with Helicopter Services Malta Ltd.”

“Yachting is a constantly evolving sector and it is indeed important for a company to continually review and shape its services to meet the ever changing requirements and regulations of the industry and to ensure each ownership structures remain compliant.”

“Furthermore, it is vital to be at the forefront in terms of development, innovation and new solutions which meet clients’ changing requirements. With this in mind, we feel that our new offering perfectly suits the current market needs. Combining an innovative service line with the support that a CSP can provide enable us to offer a complete range of services for heliyacht owners.”

“With offices located in Malta and the Isle of Man, we are ideally positioned in two of the world’s leading shipping and aviation jurisdictions so we can provide for those clients that are more internationally-orientated. There still remains a good range of jurisdictions that offer competitive services for yacht and aircraft owners to choose from. However, both Malta and the Isle of Man stand out from other European jurisdictions, whether in respect of tax efficiency, industry expertise, facilities, robust regulatory frameworks, reputation or geographic location.”

“In particular, Malta is a jurisdiction that is fast becoming one of key prominence in both the marine and aviation sector and is recognised as a ‘Flag of Excellence’. With a long and successful history in the shipping and yachting industry, Malta is also continuing its efforts to achieve equal success within the aviation sector.”
