The Isle of Man Superyacht Forum (IOMSF) held a special presentation entitled ‘A Superyacht in Crisis’ at The Mermaid Theatre, Blackfriars in London on 29 June 2017.
The line-up of industry professionals for the panel discussion presented a number of case histories that focused on crisis management in the superyacht industry using a number of scenarios including regulatory, accident and emergencies, piracy, terrorism, hi-jacking and ransom. It also covered areas such as: liaison with yacht captains, owner’s representative, brokers, insurance and legal representatives, flag state, security, crew/guest welfare, and press. The in-depth discussion was chaired and moderated by Martin Redmayne, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of The Superyacht Group, home to one of the industry’s leading magazines The Superyacht Report.
The conference was followed by a cocktail reception – sponsored by the Shipowners’ Club – that provided an extra opportunity for guests to network with Group members and peers.
As a member of the IOMSF, Abacus was invited to attend at the event. Emer Dowling, Director, and Emma Hill, Senior Corporate Administrator, represented Abacus at the conference and networking reception.
