The Isle of Man shortlisted for two international awards

Following its accolade as ‘International Finance Centre of the Year’ at the International Adviser Product and Service Awards earlier this year, the Isle of Man has been recently shortlisted for ‘Best International Finance Centre’ at the International Investment Fund and Product Awards and ‘IFC of the Year’ at the annual Citywealth International Finance Centre Awards.

The Product and Service Awards celebrate companies that offer cross-border products and services for advisers with international and/or expatriate clients. Whilst the Citywealth International Finance Centre Awards aims to highlight the excellence of the advisers and managers in the private wealth sector in the major international financial centres.

Both awards are judged by an international panel of highly respected practitioners from all sectors with experience of working with advisors in all the jurisdictions covered.

The International Investment Fund and Product Awards will be taking place in London on 5 October 2017, and the Citywealth International Finance Centre Awards will follow on 18 January 2018. The winners will have excelled in achievement, innovation, expertise and service.

Commenting on these nominations, Martyn Perkins MHK, Member of the Department of Economic Development with responsibility for Financial Services, said: “The Isle of Man’s thriving financial services sector is testament to the Island’s strong focus on customer driven services and innovation in its product offering. Making the shortlist for two awards alongside strong competition, such as Cayman and Singapore, really highlights the continued prominence of the Isle of Man as an International Business Centre of excellence.”

“The Programme for Government commits to the continued diversification of our main financial services economy and the Department is supporting this through a number of incentives, including the £50m Enterprise Development Scheme, the Alternative Banking Regime, crowdfunding regulation and the ongoing review of the Island’s financial legislation. Working closely with industry we are developing new and innovative ways to ensure the continued growth of the existing financial services sector and further attracting new business to the Island.”

The Island has years of international experience in its financial services sector and these nominations recognise the hard work, dedication and commitment of the Government and local services providers to create an environment where everyone can achieve their potential.

The Isle of Man financial services industry really leads the way in customer-focused financial services and innovation driven products, and once again shows the Island to be a dynamic and diversified financial centre, a transparent international business partner and an incubator for innovation.
