The Isle of Man Ship Registry will be launching a new product for yacht owners at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) – the Pleasure Yacht Plus service. The service will offer enhanced surveys and third-party oversight for large pleasure yachts registered with the Island’s Ship Registry.
“The Isle of Man Ship Registry is continually evolving to meet owners’ wishes for the enhancement of safety and the promotion of excellence on board. As a globally respected flag of quality, we are seeing a growing number of ship owners registering large superyachts for personal use but with the crew and capacity, and hence the risk profile, of a commercial vessel. The Pleasure Yacht Plus service provides a bespoke survey regime aimed at confirming voluntary compliance with internationally recognised codes of safety”, commented Dick Welsh, director of the Isle of Man Ship Registry.
This year’s Monaco Yacht Show will be a fantastic opportunity to promote this new product and meet with potential new clients for the Isle of Man Ship Registry”, he added.
MYS will open its doors from 27th – 30th September, at Port Hercule in Monaco, attracting visitors and exhibitors ranging from business leaders, yacht owners, yacht brokers, charter agents, management companies, government officials and shipyards.
Collectively with a number of other Isle of Man based companies, the Isle of Man Ship Registry will be attending the event and illustrating the number of advantages for yacht owners who register under the IOM flag.
The Isle of Man holds significant experience having been registering yachts for a number of years, which together with its facilities to manage vessels in a well-respected and progressive international financial centre, position the Island at the forefront of yacht registration and yacht management.
In this scenario, the knowledge and expertise in the industry held by Isle of Man Ship Registry and local services providers, along with the new Pleasure Yacht Plus service, will permit the needs of yachting clients to be fully understood and the necessary solutions supplied whilst maintaining a service of high quality and professionalism.
