Each year the company’s Corporate & Social Responsibility Committee compiles a short list of worthy causes and the team votes on which group to support.
Staff pledged to support Isle Listen as its chosen charity during 2023.
It was agreed that Isle Listen’s work to provide early intervention and prevention support across the Isle of Man was very important in improving the approach to and perception of mental health.
Abacus will raise money through a variety of activities during the year with fundraising getting underway at Easter with a Guess the name of the lamb, Guess the number of eggs in a jar and a morning tea.
Abacus managing director, Kevin Loundes, said: “The focus of our efforts is to champion charities improving quality of life and we are often overwhelmed by the generosity shown by our team during our philanthropic initiatives. We all appreciate the value of the community we live and work in which is why there is a strong commitment to giving something back.”
