Times are tough and getting tougher.
As the cost-of-living continues to worsen, many families and individuals have been left in a crisis situation as they struggle to put food on the table.
No one should have to face going hungry and this is what the Isle of Man Foodbank aim to avoid.
About the Isle of Man Foodbank
Established in 2013, the Isle of Man Foodbank is a community project that has been providing crisis support for Isle of Man families and individuals for almost 10-years.
They do this through the delivery of emergency food parcels and items, along with tailored support and plans to independence for those who find themselves in times of difficulty.
Abacus Trust Group Fundraising
Over the past 3-months, Abacus staff have taken part in a range of activities to help raise £784 for the charity, from cake sales to raffle prizes, together with the quarterly salary deduction scheme where staff choose to contribute a portion of their salary to a nominated charity, matched pound-for-pound by the company, in addition to a food collection donated by the team.
Commenting on the recent donation, Kevin Loundes – Abacus Director said “Charities like the Isle of Man Foodbank are incredibly important to the community during times of difficulty and we are delighted to support the vital aid they provide local residents who need a helping hand.
At Abacus we recoginse the importance of giving back to the communities in which we work and live, which is why we are always pleased to support worthwhile causes which our staff believe would benefit.”
