On 3 December 2020, STEP Isle of Man presented the awards to the students who successfully completed and achieved top marks in the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management during 2018 and 2019.
On this occasion, Abacus Tax Director, Kevin Loundes, and Senior Trust Manager, Sam Eves, scooped the STEP Isle of Man awards: Kevin achieved the highest score in the Trust Administration & Accounts paper whilst Sam got top marks in the completion of the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management 2019.
To mark these achievements Kevin and Sam received a crystal award and a cheque of £250 to donate to a Manx registered charity of their choice.
Commenting on the awards, Kevin said: “I am proud to have achieved this award from such an internationally respected professional organisation. I chose to study for the diploma in the knowledge that it would complement my knowledge of the trust and fiduciary side of our business.”
“The qualification has not only given me valuable additional insight into the practical and academic issues of international trust management but also means that I now possess a broader range of skills which allows me to better advise and support Abacus clients”.
In addition, Sam commented: “I was glad to receive the news about my results and I am really pleased to have my efforts rewarded by STEP Isle of Man in this way.”
“Both Kevin and I are also delighted to have been given the opportunity to support a charity of our choice, IOM Food Bank, which has always been very close to our hearts. The Charity does fantastic work on the Island and is providing a much needed service to families and individuals who are struggling, especially during the current difficult times.”
“These awards recognise the hard work and dedication that Kevin and Sam have made towards the STEP Diploma. I would like to personally thank Kevin and Sam for their commitment and congratulate on their well-deserved success”, Paul Watterson, Abacus Group Operations Director, stated.
