4 Years of Donations to Manx Children In Need Appeal

Abacus has continued its support to a local charity’s children’s appeal, for a fourth consecutive year.

We are pleased to have donated a further £180.84 to Manx Children In Need, an appeal which was started by the Isle of Man Lions Club in 1985 to provide support and assistance to local children and young people throughout the Isle of Man.

Ken Barnes, President of the Isle of Man Lions Club said, “All the money raised for Manx Children In Need stays on the Isle of Man and is directly used to offer a range of services including support and help to families with young children, equipment to schools for children with disabilities and assistance to parents with children receiving, or in need of medical treatment at Alder Hey Hospital, to name but a few.”

“We would like to thank Abacus sincerely for their continued support – it is overwhelming that they have yet again chosen to support this appeal, the money for which will go a long way to help some of the Island’s children in need. We have a great network of contacts to ensure all monies raised are used wisely and to the best advantage of the children or young people involved.”

Martin Heaney, Managing Director of Abacus Financial Services Limited said: “We are delighted to support the Isle of Man Lions Club’s Manx Children In Need Appeal for a 4th consecutive year.  Every year, people across the UK plan and take part in a variety of ingenious ways to raise money for the national Children In Need Appeal which benefits numerous charities across the UK. The Manx Children in Need appeal ran by the Isle of Man Lions Club allows us to raise funds for local charities, supporting the young people living on the Island.

“Many people may not be conscious of the Manx Children In Need Appeal however, as public awareness increases we hope it will inspire people on the Island to consider redirecting some of those brilliant fundraising initiatives to raise money for the local appeal, where it is guaranteed that genuine cases of need here on the Island will benefit.”
